Brilliant piece of kit for the price. I manage maintenance for a large commercial laundry and we use this daily as a motor vibration tester on our massive extractor drums. It caught a failing bearing last week that would have cost us thousands in downtime.
Ordered on Tuesday, arrived Wednesday morning. The build quality is solid and the backlit screen is a lifesaver in dark plant rooms. It does exactly what our old, much more expensive meter did, but in a much more portable package.
We bought this primarily as an HVAC vibration meter for checking AHU fans across our office buildings. It is incredibly easy to use. The three-in-one measurement means we don't have to carry multiple gauges anymore. Highly recommended.
A very capable handheld vibration analyzer. The readings are consistent and match up well with our annual third-party calibration checks. My only minor gripe is that the carrying case could be slightly larger to hold spare batteries more easily, but the meter itself is faultless.
I was looking at a PCE Instruments model but decided to take a punt on the Vibmeter Pro. Very glad I did. It is a fantastic displacement vibration meter and feels very rugged. Great value for money for an independent mobile engineer.
Using this as a generator vibration tester on standby diesel units. It gives quick, reliable velocity readings which is all I need for routine logging. The long probe attachment is very handy for getting past safety guards to the actual bearing housings.
How to Use
- Securely attach the appropriate stainless steel probe (short for general use, long for narrow spaces) to the top of the meter.
- Press the power button to turn on the device and wait for the LCD screen to initialise.
- Select your required measurement mode (Acceleration, Velocity, or Displacement) using the mode button.
- Press the probe firmly and perpendicularly against the bearing housing or machine casing you wish to test.
- Read the stable measurement on the backlit display and compare it against standard ISO vibration severity charts to determine machine health.
